Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalist 2016 Rio Olympic Games

4x Olympic Gold Medalist;
100 Meter Butterfly World Record

Dana will be traveling to the 2016 Rio Games in August to compete for a thrid time. Stay tuned into NBC.com for details and highlights on Dana's road to gold!

Dana Vollmer is a swimmer and four-time Olympic gold medalist. She set the world record for the 100-meter butterfly at the London Olympics in 2012, and won three gold medals there.

Born in 1987 and raised in Granbury, Texas, Dana Vollmer began competitive swimming early. At age 12 she was the youngest person in the Olympic Trials. She was diagnosed with a heart condition at age 14 but continued to swim, and won a gold medal at the Athens Olympics in 2004. In the London Olympics in 2012, she won three gold medals and broke a world record for the 100-meter butterfly.

At the 2012 Olympics in London, Vollmer won a gold medal in the 100-meter butterfly, and broke the world record with a time of 55.98 seconds. She was the first woman to beat 56 seconds in the 100-meter event, and she did so in spite one of her swim caps—the outer cap worn to cover the strap of the goggles and reduce drag—popping off in the middle of the race. Vollmer also claimed gold medals in the 4-by-100-meter medley relay and the 4-by-200-meter freestyle relay at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Go Raw favorites:

One of Dana's stapels when training is  Go Raw Sprouted Banana Bread bars, they are a perfect post workout snack. Dana is also loving the new Zesty Lemon Grow Sprouted Bar. It is great when she is in need of a little more fuel to get through long training sessions.

Michelle Konkoly

Michelle Konkoly

Current Title:
Paralympic Swimmer

3X Silver Medalist at
IPC Swimming World
Championships

In just five short years, Michelle Konkoly has risen to the top of the International Paralympic swimming scene. After surviving a fall out of a five-story window in 2011, Michelle was left with a spinal cord injury and permanent weakness in her legs. At the time, she was a freshman on the Georgetown University swim team, and she refused to let this traumatic injury stand in the way of her dreams. She not only re-learned to walk and swim, but continued to compete for the Georgetown Hoyas, even becoming team Captain.

When Michelle discovered Paralympic swimming in 2012, she quickly accelerated to the top of the world rankings. She holds six American and two PanAmerican records in S9 sprint freestyle events, and is a three-time silver medalist at IPC Swimming World Championships.

Michelle currently lives in Naples, FL, and trains with T2 Aquatics in pursuit of representing Team USA at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio.  She graduated from Georgetown in 2014 as a biology major, and will attend medical school in the future.

With her passions for high-level athletics and medicine, healthy eating is a huge priority for Michelle.  GoRaw products are the perfect combination of nutrition and delicious taste!  At the Olympic level, it’s the tiny details like nutrition and recovery that make all the difference. Michelle has a huge sweet tooth, so GoRaw cookies are the perfect sweet treat after dinner, yet don't leave her with a 'sugar hangover' for 5 am for practice the next day. She also loves to top a bowl of Greek yogurt and mangoes with Super Simple granola for a mid-morning snack. GoRaw snacks provide the crucial nutrients to fuel hours and hours in the pool, and Michelle is so excited to be partnering with GoRaw on her Road to Rio!

I love Go Raw because over the last year I have realized just how much of a difference eating the right foods makes to my performance as a professional runner and just my overall health. Since adding more whole foods, and raw products, I have made significant improvements in my running, and Go Raw means I never get bored of eating healthy as there are so many options and each of them are delicious in their own way. I wish there were more brands out there that are as genuine and lovable as Go Raw, but in some ways, this is a good thing as I can dedicate my love and energy towards the few who do shine above the rest!

Lisa received her Bachelor's degree in Communications and Psychology from the University of Miami and her Master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Columbia University. She completed her dietetic internship, with a focus on clinical medical nutrition therapy from North Shore LIJ (now North Well Health).

Lisa strives to uncomplicate the science of nutrition, making it understandable and useful
to clients and the general public.  She believes in the power of real food, and believes that nutrition is our strongest weapon against illness.

The Well Necessities Nutrition is Lisa's private practice with offices in both Long Island, New York, and Manhattan.   She is also co-founder of The Well Necessities Collection,
a seasonal delivery of healthy snacks and lifestyle essentials that protect and promote
your health.

Mantra: Eat Real and Be Mindful.   Lisa believes that these two concepts are the foundation for living a healthy, balanced, and fulfilled life.  Eating real means eating real food (unprocessed, and its source identifiable).  Being mindful means tuning in to listen to your body, its needs, cravings, and its feelings of satiety.  Eating real food, and eating it mindfully, is the solution to not only preventing disease,  but also possibly the cure to many of our chronic illnesses such as Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, etc.

When Lisa is not working with clients, she is relaxing at hot yoga, whipping up some new simple recipes, or roller blading! She also loves trying new plant based restaurants, a nice glass of wine, and time spent with her family

Combining his environmental background with a shared enjoyment of action sports has provided him the opportunity to meet world leaders, explore remote mountains, surf the longest waves, and snowkite the earth’s mountain ranges.

Ken says, “I am lucky to have this adventurous lifestyle.  However, burgers and fries did not get me to all the amazing places and championships.  We all have busy lifestyles.  Like multi-tasking moms, guys going big, or kids running non-stop; I need the most nutrition when on the go.  But that’s also when I have the least time to prepare real food.  Go Raw is the answer.  The most nutrition per bite of anything on the market and so good tasting.

Go Raw favorites:
Go Raw bars in both large and small size for when my body wants more calories for extended energy.   Raisin Crunch is so good. Sprouted Watermelon seeds for the most addictive and healthy snack in the world. Super Chocolate for the best desert on the planet.  I share these with everyone especially the ladies. Pizza Flax Snax for a fun treat that everybody likes and is nutritious.  Win-Win. Cookies.  Gotta have cookies.  Hmm.....Cookies that are actually healthy.  Yeah, it is a no-brainer.  Hmm.....Ginger Snaps

Go Raw favorites:
My Go Raw staples are the raisin crunch, apple cinnamon granola, and ginger snap cookies. When it comes to snacks, I’m pretty picky on what I put into my body and with so many different options on the market now a day, it’s even more important to read labels and understand what the ingredients are. These snacks in particular fuel me because they are organic (free of pesticides and gmo’s), gluten-free (reduces inflammation), nut-free, sprouted (activates enzymes for better absorption), and loaded with superfoods (antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins and minerals). This powerful combination helps my body work smarter, not harder. It feels really good to reach for Go Raw, junk-free foods because I can trust what’s in the product and not have to worry about any hidden surprises!
